It was lunch time and the food-court of Wesleyan University – Philippines started to fill up with their recognize student customers, a big and readable “Annabel’s” sign welcomed them. Their place was located at the food-court of Wesleyan University – Philippine alongside with the other food stalls. The food-court wasn’t air-conditioned as it was an open area but the place was fairly ventilated, giving well distributed heat maintenance to students.

We asked the crew what’s their best seller dishes and they said that it was anything that sizzles. so we ordered some.

Sizzling sisig, one of Filipino’s comfort food and one of Annabel’s best seller was the first dish served to our table, even though we have to wait for like 3-5 minutes for sizzling sake, the wait was worth it.

The taste has a sizzling twist. It has diced onions and a few hints of garlic that we actually liked, and the pork was crispy and well cooked. Over all, the ingredients all gave a great flavor to the sizzling dish.

Sizzling Chickens

Sizzling Chickens: sizzling fried chicken on the left, sizzling chicken fillet on the right.

The sizzling chicken was good. It was sizzling when served, dipped on gravy and the taste of the butter was dominating. Even so, it tasted great over all.

Next to sizzling fried chicken, served was sizzling chicken fillet. The fillet was so great, even tho the rice was served not in perfect condition.

We also tried their regular meals which were also a good buy. They have shifting menus every week, but some meals stayed on their list depending on their source and the sales.

The first one was chicken barbecue, which is chicken dipped in barbecue sauce. The chicken meat was okay and properly cooked as well as the barbecue sauce but the overall taste was a little odd maybe just to our taste-buds but the dish was good enough to fill in your stomach on a hurry situation. And it also has a free soup so there’s no rejecting to that.

The next one was chicken fillet. Annabel did a great job with their chicken fillet recipe, it looked so simple but it actually taste something more from it’s crispy looking breading outside. The chicken meat was well cooked and well breaded when it was served to our table. It’s the Wesleyan University- Philippines’ students go to meal as it was lesser complicated to eat compare to other dishes.

We also tried their combo meal offer which was actually a great deal especially for a student like us who had a hard time choosing what meal to eat. The combo meal gives you an option to pick two different viands for a meal that actually cost a 5 peso difference to their regular meal.

on our combo plate we chose meatballs that was dipped in sweet and sour sauce which taste good and regular sisig which also taste good.

We also tried one of their desserts, it was yema pastillas, which is a pastilla that have a yema filling in the middle. It’s sweet but sticky so we ended up not actually eating all of it.

They also sell different kinds of chips and various drinks so you could replenish after your tiring dish consumption.

Overall, Annabel’s is a great stall to choose upon choosing where to eat when you got stuck inside the campus and if you’re in a hurry attending your afternoon periods. They got fair enough numbers of meals to choose from and chips and drinks if you’re a go to kind of student. Plus, they have fairly accommodating staffs. It’s located at the food-court of Wesleyan University – Philippines near the south gate and Wesleyan Hospital. They’re open from 8:00am to 5:00pm on weekdays and closed on weekends.
